It is argued that boxers are some of the most fit athletes in sports. It is common to think about the skill and agility it takes to be a great boxer, but what is sometimes over looked is a boxers overall conditioning. It is the strength, agility and intense cardiovascular training that sets boxers apart from other athletes.

At Gloves Up Boxing our former professional and amateur boxing trainers will teach you the boxing fundamentals such as footwork, punching, combination punches, counter punches, and defense. In addition to the fundamentals they will also incorporate an intense boxer’s cardio workout. Through different core exercises and cross fit technique you can expect to be motivated and pushed to reach your fitness goals.

Henry Castaneda

I realized my passion for boxing at the age of eight years old, when I began formal training. Over the years, while boxing I developed my skills and techniques to a professional level. I had 87 amateur fights with 12 pro fights; with this I experienced many achievements. I won state, golden gloves, coppers gloves as well as being able to participate in nationals. As I became older I realized my passion for sports was growing, but I was not sure what sport I wanted to apply my talents to so I tried them all. As an all-around athlete with the love of baseball, football, and all other sports, I realized that my formal training in Boxing helped me excel mentally and physically in these other sports.

In order to keep up with the competition I also had to gain experience in the body building and nutrition. With all of this real life experience I am able to create a boxing and other cross fitness routine that will include an emphasis on plyometrics and cardio. I am able to provide you with a workout that includes all of these necessary tools to reach your goals because I have been there myself.

My philosophy is to incorporate my boxing skills with my plyometric routines combined with other cross fitness exercises that I have developed to shock the body while working out is key.

I like to bring a fresh approach to personal fitness training so I will evaluate your current fitness level and ability. Then working as a team we will customize an individual training program for you based on your current physical condition and the goals you would like to achieve. I know that a realistic training program will push you and keep you motivated to achieve your goals.
